The close relationship of ADGHIKLN is borne out by the stanza arrangement and by ll. 2, 5, 14, 16, 18, 19, 22, 26, 35, 40; a subgroup AD may perhaps be seen in 13, 15, and G varies slightly on occasions (cf. 15). The remaining MSS. stand together against this group, but their interrelationship is less obvious. There is a connection between Q, S and c (cf. 18, 19, 22, 35) although Qc sometimes stand together, (7, 14, 15, 26, 34) while S diverges; sometimes, too, Q is isolated (5, 17, 28, 33). To Q and this group may be linked the defective MS. F (cf. 19, 22, 23). CM are of the same family (5, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 26) and appear to have some connection with V (cf. 2, 3, 5, 18, 22, 35) and R (cf. 2, 3, 5, 22, 35) although the latter two MSS. often incline to the other groups (V 19, 26, 33; R 16, 17, 18, 33) or are isolated (V 16, 17, 23, 29; R 7, 9, 12, 19, 26, 29, 33). The grouping of the MSS. is therefore as follows: ADGHIKLN; FQc, S, CMRV.
