EN JOI QUE’M DEMORA
(366.15)
MW, II, 36; Choix, V, 285.
The interrelationship of ADIK is evident in 1, 4, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28, 30, 32, 39, 47, 50, 58, 60. PS, as usual, are identical and are in agreement with ADIK in 1, 14, 22, 65, 66, 68; occasionally they are isolated and occasionally incline to CMR (cf. 27, 28, 40, 56).
As for the remaining MSS., considerable fluctuations are to be observed and it is difficult to trace any clearly defined groups. CMR appear to be closely linked (cf. 22, 24, 28, 30, 56) although each of these MSS. betrays individualist tendencies on occasions. V and T belong apparently to this latter family (cf. tornada). As the variants show, the other MSS. vary individually and collectively but appear, on the whole, to be linked with C.
On the whole, the group ADIK offers superior readings (cf. 1, 4, 19, 20, 21, 28, 64) despite the apparent confusion in these MSS. of ll. 40 and 44. For the tornada (which occurs only in CMTV and may be an interpolation) the reading of C has been adopted and the necessary orthographical changes made.
Six coblas singulars, with one tornada of four lines: a’ b’ a’ b’ a’ b’ a’ b’ c c b’ c, lines of five syllables. a changes every verse, b every alternate verse, and c remains the same throughout. Maus 225, Anmerkungen 2, 14.
