From this analysis of the stanza order it will be seen that CMTa alone have the stanza 8; their relationship is further demonstrated in 13, 15, 27, 32, although it should be pointed out that C often varies considerably. In ll. 6, 11, 27, 41, a group ADIKLN is to be observed and this group may be further subdivided into AD and IKLN (cf. 24, 28, 29, 30, 34, 44). The remaining MSS. fluctuate between these two major groups and are very inconsistent. Thus V inclines on the whole to MT (cf. 15, 19, 21, 24) whilst R, although retaining much of its usual individuality, inclines to AD in 28, 30, 35, 50, 51. Q and c are difficult to place although they appear to be linked with IKLN in 11, 15, 21, 34. Of the defective MSS., F inclines to C in 27, 32, and to IKLN in v. 5; Dc tends to AD in 34, to CIK in 35, to CFc in 37, 39.
Hence a general summary may be made as follows: AD, IKLN; C, MTa, V; with Dc, F, Q, R and c occupying positions between these two general groups.
From the point of view of continuity, the sequence of stanzas found in AD appears somewhat preferable to that of any other group.
