SI BE·M SUI LOING ET ENTRE GENT ESTRAIGNA

MW, II, 18; Delius, p. 35.
From the MS. variants, two major lines of tradition are to be discerned; it will be seen that ABDIK stand against the remaining MSS. in 2, 6, 11, 15, 17, 31, 45. Many subdivisions are to be traced in these two groups; thus the first group may be further divided into ABD and IK (cf. 2, 15, 24) whilst the following subgroups are apparent among the remaining MSS.; QOO1 (2, 4, 6, 11, 13, 25, 42), PS (as usual almost identical), RV (4, 6, 15, 21, 29, 37) —these three groups belong to the same family as is shown by 8, 11, 13— CMa (2, 4, 6, 17, 24, 42). The defective MS. F belongs to the group ABDIK; G and N fluctuate considerably but appear to incline on the whole to CMa (2, 6, 24, 42). The groupings may therefore be summarised as follows: ABD(F), IK; OO1Q, PS, RV, CMa, G, N.
