The MSS. are in general agreement, but a few variants are to be observed which permit of their division into two subgroups, AIK and CDaG. The most striking difference occurs in v. 5. AIK lack one line, the sixth, owing possibly to copyist’s error; this group has l. 8 (Sol no·s desesper) as the sixth line and an eighth line is missing. CDaG have Q’a tot son plazer as the sixth line and Sol no·s desesper as the eighth. In the tenth line of each stanza, DaG have throughout mon and C has throughout bon, whilst AIK have bon in the first stanza and mon in the remainder. For the first two lines of v. 3, CDaG have Eu ai tal amia, per la fe que·us dey; A has Eu ai m’amor misa, en tal fe que·us dey, whilst IK in the first line of the stanza have a fusion of the two versions. In l. 27, AIK have tro en Frisa, CDaGtro Cabria.
Six coblas singulars, with one tornada of four lines: 5a’ 5b 5a’ 5b 5a’ 5b 5a’ 5b 3c 4c 5b 5b. The ninth and tenth lines are repeated throughout and the last four lines of each verse are in the nature of a refrain. Maus 224 and Anmerkung 20. Cf. VII.
