The text has suffered considerably in the course of transmission, due no doubt to the complicated stanza structure. The omission of ll. 20–25 in CR shows these two MSS. to be closely related, and the variants and errors bear this out, CR standing against Da1 in ll. 7, 27, 30, 36, 39, 48, 56, 57, 60. While Da1 alone preserve ll. 20–25, they offer on the whole an inferior text; in contrast to CR, they frequently diverge, and in addition have a large number of isolated and erroneous readings.
